Meet Mark, a valued member of Fremont Bank's Banking Systems team for an incredible 40 years. He monitors systems like the core mainframe, processes client accounts and statements, and partners with departments across the Bank to keep everything running smoothly. A fan of everything from Earth, Wind & Fire to Metallica and a proud follower of Bay Area sports, Mark personifies efficiency, teamwork, and genuine dedication.
How long have you worked at Fremont Bank, and what do you do here?
I will have been with Fremont Bank for 40 years as of December 2026. I work in the Banking Systems department, where I monitor systems like the core mainframe and update and process client accounts and statements. I also collaborate with other departments to help with access to Navigator and Director, as well as other issues related to Banking Systems.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love that my role keeps me on my toes. Between multitasking and meeting deadlines, there's always something to work toward — and I genuinely enjoy that challenge. The flexibility my job offers is also a big plus, as it allows me to maintain a healthy balance between my work and personal life.
What's your greatest strength as a business professional?
My greatest strength is my drive to get things done efficiently and on time. I take pride in delivering quality work within deadlines while building strong relationships with the people I work with along the way.
What does your current music playlist look like?
My playlist covers a lot of ground. I gravitate toward old-school R&B and funk — Earth, Wind & Fire and Marvin Gaye are staples — alongside heavy metal like Metallica, early ‘90s alternative rock like Pearl Jam, and classic rock like Led Zeppelin. Most of what I listen to is from the ‘70s and ‘80s, and I don't listen to much current music.
What’s your favorite decade? Why?
My favorite decade is probably the 2010–2020 era, and it comes down to one thing: Bay Area sports. The SF Giants won three World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014. The Warriors followed with three NBA championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018. The 49ers also made two Super Bowl runs in 2013 and 2019 — both heartbreakers, but memorable all the same. It was a great decade to be a Bay Area sports fan.
