Corporate Giving Review Process

Applications are accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year. Applications are reviewed by our Corporate Giving Committee once a month. Each request receives careful, thoughtful attention.

Funding is generally awarded on a yearly basis with the expectation that it will be expended within one year. A contribution granted one year does not make an organization automatically eligible the following year. Organizations must reapply for funding consideration for each annual request.

Fremont Bank makes every effort to assist as many qualifying nonprofit organizations as possible. We reserve the right to decline any application at our discretion. Organizations whose requests cannot be fulfilled one year are welcomed to apply the following year. Fremont Bank reserves the right to suspend, change, or terminate its Corporate Giving Program, or any part of it, at any time.

Foundation History

Fremont Bank Foundation is an independent, private, grant-making foundation that is solely funded by Fremont Bank. Established in 1995 under the direction of Fremont Bank’s late founder, Morris Hyman, and his wife, Alvirda, the Fremont Bank Foundation began with a simple belief: strong communities grow when you invest in what matters locally. That belief still guides our work today.

Formed with an initial investment of $20,000, the Foundation now receives a significant percentage of Fremont Bank's pre-tax income each year. From our first grant of $1,000 for a shed for children's riding toys to $1,500,000 for a new critical care pavilion — our largest contribution to date — these substantial funds allow us to continuously invest in local nonprofit organizations for the implementation of their extraordinary visions.

Foundation: Funding Process

"You find out what someone needs and you give it"

Morris Hyman's personal philosophy on community involvement is at the core of Fremont Bank Foundation's funding process.

The Foundation views grants as an opportunity to invest in the future of our communities. Proposals are invite-only, so the members of our Board of Directors and our Advisory Committee seek out and select firsthand the organizations and projects for potential grant funding. Getting to know the people who manage the organizations we support is fundamental to our grant-making strategy
